Machi lore and info (REUPLOAD)

So about machis!
warning some of this is old, yet valid.
Birth and death:

When a machi is born, the flock dances what is called "The dance of life"
meaning that they celebrate the new one's birth.
due to there flocking ways, the babies ride on the backs during migration. Since the are small and weak at that time.
Once they've reached there spot where they live during that season, they babies are put into nest like dens underground.
there they group and learn how to live.

the average life span is 9-13 years in the wild. But in captivity they can live a long plucking time (im sorry)
they can live to 40-60 years in captivity. So enjoy a life long friend. when a machi dies, like any other animal they morn and cry over the dead one.



behaviors:
how to make sure your machi is fine, here are there behaviors

Machis don't really express themselves through there mouth (ex. frowning) but rather there eyes and body language.

happy-
tamed machis will smile at you sometimes, since they know that's a good sign.
depending on the machi, if you smile it might start growling. however, the growling looking and sound quite cute, DONT take it that way!
machis are omnivores, but they have about 8 sharp teeth. (they have 18) those sharp teeth are very deadly.
but to keep a wild machi happy, just blink quickly multiple times, and they will take it as a sign of affection.

anger-
as I said before, don't smile at a wild machi. or they might attack. the growl sounds like a loud purr, with meowing like sounds in between. cute right??? it sounds cute, but it is a growl. or of course hurt them  WHYY WOULD YOU DO THAT!?!?!?!?!?1
anyways, they like a clean-somewhat dirty area. without that, it will stress them and make them aggressive. or having too large of a den! they like dens that could fit about 1-2 machis curled up in them. so id recommend letting them build one out of soft and fluffy things!

sadness-
if you yell at a machi, like any other pet it will make them sad. Machis are expressive with there eyes, so crying is an obvious one.
easy ways to make your machi sad and everything will hate you
-yelling
-hurting it (how dare you)
-being bullied by other pets (rare they like to make friends)
-items they care about taken way
-not finishing food
-not enough food/water
-not getting at least 4 hours of sleep
-others that are sad! <--- not a jerk one


machis who stare at things for long periods, are confused!
machis who blink quickly multiple times are showing love
machis who close there eyes for a while are bored
if laying down on there back, they want attention
if laying down, well there laying down......
tired machis put there stomach on the floor and slide around with there legs pushing them slowly.
rolling around means excited!
when they feel sometimes soft, fluffy, or both play in it and have fun!
after that they sleep.
jumping up and down is energetic


Dens:

Machis live in dens, all types has some sort of den.
Some have one for a long while, while other migrate.

Dens are large, having 2-5 "chambers."
Chambers are large. On average they are 6x8 feet.
Height depends on the average height of the flock.
One is reserved for sleeping/storing food, the other for baby machis. (Baby machi names are still being planned)

Each type has very good differences.

Parie:


Name: American Parie Machi
Habitat: American prairies
Food: has no preference in food
Home: Has short lived dens.
Variants: N/a
Diet: They will eat most things they see, but hate raw wheat.
Also they don't eat insects.
Migration: They can fly. But they roam the prairies. But Stay in a general state. Also young run before they can fly.
Can be at any time.
Mating season: Through summer
Other: They love to stay in flocks. They are social, but not overly social.
The fur is very sleek and helps them fly/run. They are quick and engertic

traits:
ears point towards ground.
can release claws like all other machis
has back feathers for running

Winter:

Name: Antarctic Machi
But is called "Winter"
Habitat: Antarctic
Food: mostly herbivores. But eat meat during harsh winters
Home: Live in various dens through the seasons
spring/summer: farther from sea
Winter: near sea, very hidden
Fall: Roam "near" den scavenging
Variants: Fox machi. They always live in winter dens but sometimes live with the flock
Diet: Mostly herbivores. They will eat any plant around. But during harsh/late winter eats only meat
Migration: They can fly. Young can fly 17 days after birth. Move from dens, but rarely go to South America if too cold.
mating season: Winter. It's the safest. Also because the dens are used, very warm.
Other: Very social creatures. They live in flocks of 1-70, but most are only around 15.
They don't groom each other. There fur is very pest repellant/water repellant.
In fact, ones in tick-areas don't get ticks. The fur produces a chemical that kills dangerous bugs/repellant to water.
It's not deadly to other fur. In fact, it can get rid of ticks/insects.
Used to make great bug repellant. It rubs off onto other things, so hug the heck out of one.
Territory: The territory is as big as it needs to be. For every 1 machi, It is 19 by 10 meters

Traits:
Like any other machi, the feet can spread out and release claws. Very good for climbing.
Ears are rabbit like. But the fur protects the insides from the cold.
They point outwards. Very fluffy.
In the "armpit" area, very warm soft feathers are there. This is to keep the young warm.
Has a normal tail. No fluff at the end, but warm feathers are there.
Wings are normal.
Leg fluff is extremely fluffy.
Neck fluff to protect the face/neck

Aquatic:
Name: Aquatic Machi
Habitat: All over the World in oceans/seas
Home: Live in reefs or near shore, when mating
Variants: Turtle and Seal
Diet: Prey on smaller fish/eat sea plants
Migration: They swim in huge schools with no limit. Travel the ocean with bigger ones protecting smaller ones
Mating season: Spring
Other: They are very different from there land dwelling brothers. Can move onto land with there lil fins but like a dolphin, need water.
They also must go to the surface for air. But lack the ability to eat crabs, due to the shell. The meat of these creatures is filled with toxins.
Only the meat though, not the blood/skin. Like all other machis they can be cuddled with. They don't have scales, rather tiny-tiny little feathers/fur.
They are very social and most don't attack humans. But the bigger ones can. Sharks like to try and nibble on them, but they are heavy pack hunters.
if one grabs a fish, they all go for it.

Traits: "Fish" ears, small fin-like legs, and a tail with a fin. Also they can talk to each other with cute little echo(s)
 
Horse:


name: Equine Machi
Habitat: Europe/Scotland
Food: Mostly carnivore. But still is an omnivore.
home: Only den when mating. Otherwise roam the land.
Variants: N/a
Diet: Prey on many animals, but do eat some fruits. Will eat horses....
Migration: They roam through a vast hunting territory. Big runners, fast ones.
Mating season: Fall
Other: Unlike other machis, this type has hair and tail fans. You can style there hair too.
The front "hooves" are more of a big claw. They are used to kill and climb over rocky lands.
They DO groom each other's hair. But lick dirt of there fur like cats.
Tongue feels like hard sandpaper.
They lick you if they like you, but it does hurt. A LOT.

Traits: Hair that can be styled. It can be styled in many ways, but make sure it doesn't hurt them.
The tail fans keep young warm, for shade, and for better balance. But is harder to style.
Fur is course and some-what downy. Not the softest, but still very warm and fluffy.

(Jackchi is a sub species. Make one there's none in the ref folder :C)

Machis-open species-
Machis are omnivores, eating many creatures and plants.
There are fours different types to machis, from left to right are Parie, Winter, Horse, and Aquatic
Machis can be found in many parts of the world, while aquatic can be found in any ocean/sea.

There are variants of these four including a sub-species, Jackchi which is NOT listed here.
Machis have paw-like feet that one he left, can "open" up to show claws.

Each type has its own abilities and looks designed to help them survive.
They can range from 1' foot to 6'4. Can have any color/pattern.

Machis make great pets, and love to cuddle.
In the wild they are very dangerous. If you want to pick a fight, the most predatory one is the horse.
Each type has it's own reference sheet. Explaining everything about the type.
They are very squishy and huggable. They make great pets.

Machis are smart creatures. You can teach them to about anything.
They do have there limits, you can't make a horse machi fly.

The food they eat is:
meats, fruits, Veggies, and cheese. Can eat other human foods, but it's not the best for them.

Machis are social creatures, living in huge flocks but does range between types.
They are an open species, make your own but credit and ASK on fa before doing so.


The central was owned by humans to preserve machis.
but glory, the rarest one because she has a trait like no other,
a tail fan.
No other parie can have it! (it's apart of the rules!)
She led some machis to tka eover the island. Now, it's a beautiful and
giant home to many machis. Because of this, a market has started selling special gear.

In the central, each machi is equal.
even if there runts.

Why are there four types..?

The "original" machi flew was moved from it's home by a huge earth quake.
Due to this, the four types came around and now they live on earth.

but a variant of it "became" the aquatic machi
